Ansley
McGhee
USA National Jr. Teen
2012
Ansley can be described as
determined, ambitious and optimistic. As a 15-year-old high
school student in Georgia, she aspires to attend the
University of Texas on a softball scholarship and study
broadcast journalism. She also hopes to continue modeling
and to one day win Teen USA or Miss USA. After college, she
would like to become an ESPN sportscaster.
Her love of sports derives
from her heavy involvement in softball, as she is the
pitcher for her school’s varsity softball team and has been
on five all-star travel softball teams. She has also been
the junior varsity and varsity baseball manager. Through
softball, Ansley has earned the Most Valuable Varsity
Player award, and was Honorable All-State Mention for
Softball 2011.
Outside of the field, Ansley
is dedicated to her studies, and is a student ambassador as
well as being on the student council and member of Young
Life. She is a national French exam top finalist, and has
won chorus awards. She was also the 9th grade
representative on Homecoming Court.
Ansley loves participating
in community service events, and was selected for the Teen
Board at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She routinely
volunteers with patients at Shepherd Spinal Center, as well
as Children’s Healthcare, Atlanta Community Food Bank, and
Send-A-Smile. Ansley enjoys cooking at Ronald McDonald
House, being a Vacation Bible School teacher, and
volunteering each year in the Andee’s Army 5K Fun Run. As a
mentor, Ansley is a Magnolia Club Leader for Christian
Youth Girls, and coaches a community youth softball
team.
Ansley has held many titles,
including Miss Georgia Peach Jr. Teen American Coed 2011,
where she placed top 5 at Coed Nationals recently. She also
represented the Peach State at the Miss Teen America
nationals this year and earned a top 5 spot as well. As
Miss Southern States Jr. Teen for USA National Miss, Ansley
was excited to hear her name called out as the new USA
National Jr. Teen 2012 – her first national title.
