Do I have to win a Regional Pageant to compete at Nationals?
Absolutely not! At USA National Miss, you do not have to win a State or Regional Pageant to join us at Nationals! All state titles are available by appointment, giving you the opportunity to represent the state of your choice and become part of the UNM sisterhood. While regional pageants are not required, we highly encourage you to participate! They are a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable stage experience, build confidence, make new friendships, and even have the chance to WIN your registration fee to Nationals!
Where can I find the UNM Handbook?
The USA National Miss Handbook is updated annually following Nationals and is available by September 1st and continuously updated throughout the year. Your handbook is your go-to resource for everything you need to know about competing at UNM, including competition guidelines, important dates, requirements, and more! You can access the handbook on our website or through the Delegate Portal once you are registered. We encourage all delegates and families to review it carefully as they prepare for an unforgettable Nationals experience!
What do my Registration Fee and National Package Fee cover?
At USA National Miss, we believe in providing an exceptional Nationals experience filled with incredible opportunities, exclusive gifts, and unforgettable memories! Here's what you can expect from each fee.
Registration Fee
Your Registration Fee officially welcomes you into the UNM sisterhood and includes your appointed State Title, official USA National Miss State Crown and Sash, and entry into all three required areas of competition at Nationals: Interview, Evening Gown, and Fun Fashion.
National Package Fee
Your National Package Fee is designed to make your Nationals experience truly special! Valued at over $2,200, this exciting package includes your custom ASHLEYlauren Opening Number Dress, Diverse Style Opening Number Shoes, Opening Number Earrings, official UNM apparel, rehearsal T-shirts, ASHLEYlauren T-shirt and tote, fitness top, and a full-page color spotlight ad in the Official Nationals Program Book. Delegates also receive admission to all Nationals parties, (Senior Division - Top Golf experience and dinner), gala tickets for themselves and one chaperone, an official Nationals swag bag, their headshot featured on the Nationals banner, admission to optional competition events and preliminary and final competitions, plus additional personalized gifts and surprises throughout the week!
Are There Additional Expenses?
Once registered, delegates are not required to pay any additional fees to USA National Miss to participate in the required areas of competition at Nationals. However, delegates may choose to purchase optional experiences and services, including optional competitions, professional hair and makeup, private coaching, and other personal items. These are entirely optional and at each family's discretion. Competition wardrobe and accessories are selected and purchased by each family based on their individual style, preferences, and budget. We encourage families to make choices that are comfortable and affordable for them. For delegates traveling from out of state, additional expenses such as transportation, hotel accommodations, and meals should also be considered. Our goal is to make every delegate feel celebrated from the moment she joins UNM until her final walk across the Nationals stage. After all, USA National Miss is more than a pageant. It's an experience, a sisterhood, and a celebration of YOU!
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes! We understand that preparing for Nationals is an investment, and we want to make the experience as manageable as possible for our families. USA National Miss offers flexible payment options that allow you to spread out your payments leading up to Nationals. Our goal is to help you plan ahead, stay on track with important deadlines, and enjoy your UNM journey!
Does UNM have a "type"?
Absolutely NOT! At USA National Miss, we believe there is no one-size-fits-all definition of a queen! Every girl brings her own unique beauty, personality, talents, and strengths to the stage, and that's exactly what makes our sisterhood so special. Our world of Positive Pageantry celebrates individuality, builds confidence, and welcomes every girl to shine as her authentic self. At UNM, you don't have to fit a mold to belong. You just have to be YOU!
Do you have to use a UNM Sponsor for coaching, HMU or tanning, wardrobe?
Not at all! At USA National Miss, you are welcome to work with the professionals and businesses you know, love, and trust. While using a UNM Sponsor is never required, we encourage our delegates and families to consider supporting the amazing sponsors who support our organization. Their generosity and commitment help make the UNM experience so special, and supporting them in return helps us build lasting partnerships that benefit our entire UNM sisterhood!
How do I register for Optional Competitions?
USA National Miss offers a variety of exciting Optional Competitions that give delegates even more opportunities to showcase their talents, personalities, passions, and unique strengths! Participating in optionals is a wonderful way to make the most of your Nationals experience, but they are completely optional and do not affect your overall Nationals score. Registering is easy! Once you're officially registered for Nationals, simply log in to your Delegate Portal, where you'll find the Optional Competition Registration link. From there, you can explore the available competitions, select the ones you'd like to enter, complete any required submissions, and submit your payment all in one convenient place!
How does UNM communicate with delegates?
Email is our primary form of official communication, and important announcements, updates, and reminders will be sent to the email address provided during registration. We also use our National GroupMe to share general announcements, reminders, and information with all delegates and families. Additionally, each division has its own Divisional GroupMe, providing a fun and welcoming space for delegates to connect, build friendships, ask questions, and get to know their fellow UNM sisters before arriving at Nationals!
What happens if I WIN a USA National Miss National Title?
Get ready for an unforgettable year filled with once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, incredible experiences, lasting friendships, and memories you'll treasure forever! As a USA National Miss National Queen, you'll represent our organization, inspire others, and enjoy an exciting year as part of the UNM Royal Court! But first, your royal journey begins the very next day after Nationals! All newly crowned National Queens must be available for our official Queen Contract Signing and their first photoshoot as UNM Royalty! For this special day, you'll need to have three outfits ready: the Evening Gown you were crowned in, your Opening Number attire, and your UNM White Party attire.
